A Life's Work
"Relationship trauma is the loss of self in the service of attachment. Healing is the restoration of self in the service of reality."
My story began long before I became a psychologist. It began with a deep curiosity about human suffering, resilience, relationships, and the extraordinary capacity people have to heal. As a survivor, clinician, educator, and advocate, I have spent my career standing at the intersection of trauma, justice, accountability, and recovery.
My mission remains the same: to help people understand their story, reclaim their voice, and create meaningful change in their lives and relationships. What began as a personal search for understanding became a professional calling that continues to guide my work today.
The VMR Philosophy
The foundation of every session, every service, and every story.
Every story deserves to be heard. Before meaningful change can occur, people need to feel seen, heard, and understood. Validation creates the safety and trust that make healing possible.
Change begins with possibility. We help individuals identify their strengths, recognize patterns, and move toward meaningful change. Motivation transforms insight into action and intention into progress.
Recovery is the restoration of self. Trauma and adversity can disrupt how people see themselves and relate to others. Restoration is about rebuilding trust, strengthening resilience, and creating a life aligned with who you truly are.
